February 2024 Progress | Progress Update: The Office of the Chief Statistician of the United States at OMB issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the “Fundamental Responsibilities of Recognized Statistical Agencies and Units” on August 18, 2023 which closed on October 2, 2023. OMB is currently reviewing 33 public comments we received, and expect to release the final rule in FY 2024.
